Inside, an 8 litre sealed waste drawer holds up to fifteen days of single-cat use. After each visit, the globe rotates and sifts the waste into the drawer below. Triple-layer odour control (a sealed ABS shell, a waterproof non-stick mat, and a silicone gasket around the drawer) keeps the smell where it belongs.

Safety is built in nine ways. Weight sensors, infrared beams, and Hall effect sensors all pause operation the moment a cat is detected. The globe rotates fully open before sifting, removing any pinch points.

What type of cat litter does it work with?

The Cosy is optimised for clumping cat litter bentonite clay or clumping silica are both compatible. Clumping litter allows the mechanism to cleanly separate waste from clean litter with each cycle. Non-clumping litter and crystal litter are not recommended, as they can interfere with the sifting mechanism and reduce performance. We suggest a fill depth of 3–5 cm for best results.

Is the litter box safe if my cat enters during a cleaning cycle?

Yes. The Cosy is equipped with infrared safety sensors that continuously monitor the interior during the cleaning cycle. If your cat re-enters the globe at any point, the motor pauses immediately and resets. The cycle only resumes once the sensor confirms the unit is empty. This safety pause applies regardless of whether the unit is in automatic or manual mode.

How loud is the cleaning cycle?

The motor operates at under 40dB during the cleaning cycle — roughly equivalent to a quiet library or light rainfall. It is audible in a silent room but not disruptive.
